Drawing is a Form of Writing

Drawing, like writing, is an act of communication. Setting marks on the page, attempting to capture form within line, I feel the same deep absorption when I draw as when I write. This is a series I’ve been working on for the last few days. I’ve been obsessed (enscorcelled!) by the beauty of these epitaphs of summer.

  1. I started writing letters again, I ll draw all over the envelope draw my own postcard send them to friends and family. Its nice to get art in the mail instead of a bill or advertisement. It is absorbing a catharsis of sorts. Draw on!

  2. It’s like telling a story as well, drawing vivid pictures that tell big words just by manipulating it with wonderful, and thoughtful imagery. Cheers to drawing! šŸ™‚

  3. you’re absolutely right! I wish I could draw as well as I write, but though i can not I’ve always felt a kinship between the two. When I look at a painting I see a words, when I write I see a picture
